Analysing Opening Scenes 3 - 'Easy A'

The next opening scene I am going to analyse is from the teen film 'Easy A' starring Emma Stone.

The sequence includes the following typical conventions of opening scenes:

• Production company logos/idents (Screen Gems, Olive Bridge Entertainment)
• The title card 'A Will Gluck Film' 
• Indication of genre with upbeat music, setting (school) and fonts
• Establishes California high school setting
• Further title cards including the film title 'Easy A' and the names of the film's actors, followed by the names of significant crew members
• Introduces main character and her traits through the use of voiceover and her actions
